The New Green Vault

The collection focuses on the individual works of art and you will be chronologically guided through the history of treasury art. The unique masterpieces presented in ten rooms including many of the major works by Dinglinger, jeweler of the Dresden court, where he became famous for: the Golden Coffee Set or the Royal Household of the Grand Mogul, as well as other fascinating jewelry made of gold, silver, enamel and gemstone, of ivory, mother-of-pearl, coconut, and even ostrich egg. In contrast to the historical Green Vault the items here are shown in display cases. The unobtrusive modern presentation enables the visitor an all around and close-up view of the treasures and thus to be enchanted by their sheer infinite wealth of detail. This unique historical collection of eighteenth-century ceremonial jewelry is invaluable in numbers – Dinglinger’s Royal Household of the Grand Mogul once cost more than the shell building of the king’s Moritzburg hunting castle …
