The
New Green Vault
The
collection focuses on the individual
works of art and you will be chronologically
guided through the history of treasury
art. The unique masterpieces presented
in ten rooms including many of the
major works by Dinglinger, jeweler
of the Dresden court, where he became
famous for: the Golden Coffee Set
or the Royal Household of the Grand
Mogul, as well as other fascinating
jewelry made of gold, silver, enamel
and gemstone, of ivory, mother-of-pearl,
coconut, and even ostrich egg. In
contrast to the historical Green
Vault the items here are shown in
display cases. The unobtrusive modern
presentation enables the visitor
an all around and close-up view
of the treasures and thus to be
enchanted by their sheer infinite
wealth of detail. This unique historical
collection of eighteenth-century
ceremonial jewelry is invaluable
in numbers – Dinglinger’s
Royal Household of the Grand Mogul
once cost more than the shell building
of the king’s Moritzburg hunting
castle … |
